“I was the Board Chairman of the NE Section of the American Water Works Association when we interviewed candidates for the new position of Executive Director.  We had just been reorganized and re-established, and while we had 1400 members- we had no existing structure, no staff,  and no budget; in many respects we were a start-up entity. Because of her past experience, Ms. Wennerstrom stood out from the many candidates we had for the new Executive Director position. She took over the reins and got us established.  Within that first year she organized and ran out first annual conference, she helped set up and coordinate our annual elections, got us incorporated, arranged for insurance coverage, took over and created a new website, developed monthly training programs and board meetings, sent out monthly newsletters, and has now opened our bank account. No one on the board had any idea on how to accomplish these necessary organizational and institutional steps a new organization must take besides Hillari.
